Does Original Medicare cover absorbent incontinence supplies?
Medicare's coverage page is direct: Original Medicare does not cover incontinence supplies or adult diapers. This article concerns absorbent incontinence supplies, including adult diapers; other medical products need their own coverage check. This is a coverage answer, not a judgment about whether a product is medically useful. Medicare.gov
What if you have Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage plans can have extra benefits beyond Original Medicare. The Medicare page does not name an incontinence benefit in a particular plan; it says to contact the plan. Ask us to check your exact plan and item, including any approval or supplier rules. We can help you review what your plan says about coverage and expected cost; someone else's plan or last year's benefits may differ. Medicare.gov
What about New York Medicaid?
New York Medicaid is a separate program. It can cover incontinence supplies when a practitioner documents medical need, subject to quantity and program rules. If you have Medicaid, or both Medicare and Medicaid, ask us to check your benefits. See our New York Medicaid incontinence coverage page for current product and benefit information. The broader Medicare equipment overview covers other equipment; it does not change the incontinence-supply exclusion. For product fit rather than coverage, read how to choose adult diapers for women. See adult diapers for the product line.
Need help checking coverage?
Ask us - checking benefits is what we do. We can look at your specific plan and product with you, including any order or approval requirement and which supplier may fill it. A benefits check is an estimate, not a guarantee of payment. Start the intake form, text the store, or call (347) 817-1037. Clinical details can wait for our follow-up; do not send records by ordinary text. If you are not staying dry, or develop a rash, sores or signs of infection, talk with your clinician. Supplies manage leakage but do not diagnose its cause. MedlinePlus
Ask us about your current benefits and your expected out-of-pocket cost. Benefit information is an estimate, not a guarantee of payment.
